
On December 5, 2025, at 1107 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of John Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Firefighters arrived to find thick smoke coming from the second floor of a 2-story residential structure. Crews pulled a hose line to the second-floor and began an aggressive attack on a fire now showing through a second-floor window. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire while other crews searched the residence for occupants and pets of which none were found. The fire did extend slightly into the attic but was also extinguished.
Crews dealt with very cold temps and slippery conditions, but no injuries were reported.
Cause of fire is under investigation.
