Fort Wayne City Utilities news release:
Keep Leaves Out of the Street Ahead of Expected Rain
Fort Wayne, Indiana (November 17, 2025) — With rain in the forecast, City Utilities is asking residents to help prevent street flooding by keeping raked leaves out of the roadway. When leaves wash into storm drains, they can block water flow and cause backups in nearby neighborhoods.
Residents should place leaves in the park strip or behind the curb while waiting for collection — never in the street. Keeping leaves out of the roadway helps protect our neighborhoods and ensures stormwater drains can function correctly.
Remember — Only Rain in the Drain.
