Pro-Active Policing Makes for a Safe Friday Night

Fort Wayne, Indiana (November 10, 2025) – After hearing rumors of a large car “rally” and potential street racing in Fort Wayne this past Friday night, Indiana State Police ramped up patrols, including the use of our helicopter. Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Troopers partnered with Fort Wayne City Police Department, Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and New Haven Police Department officers to patrol with a purpose on Friday night.

The information obtained made mention of this rally taking place Friday night, November 7th. In a pre-emptive measure, Indiana State Police worked to bring Allen County Police Agencies together, with the use of the Indiana State Police helicopter, to find and disperse any large gatherings that could result in reckless driving, racing, or street takeovers. As officers moved into the areas with large gatherings, the crowd would disperse prior to any major disruption. The night was a success as several arrests were made, and tickets were given in a successful attempt to create safe roads for our community.

The agencies had a combined 35 officers involved. In total, they wrote 32 tickets, 59 warnings and arrested several people on misdemeanor charges. There was one pursuit during the evening with a stolen vehicle. The pursuit ended without incident and the vehicle was recovered.

The Indiana State Police will continue to partner with our local agencies to prevent aggressive street racing and reckless driving. We will be present, pro-active and police with a purpose of keeping Hoosiers, and those traveling through our communities, safe.
