The City of Fort Wayne and the Allen County Highway Department will host a public information meeting regarding the North Clinton Street Improvements Project from Auburn to Mayhew roads.
News release from the City of Fort Wayne:
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Fort Wayne, Indiana (November 3, 2025) – The City of Fort Wayne and the Allen County Highway Department will host a public information meeting regarding the North Clinton Street Improvements Project (Des. Nos. 1901703 (Lead), 2300719, 2300720, and 2300721) from Auburn to Mayhew roads. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov.12 at 5:30 p.m. at the North Pointe Clubhouse, 8202 Riveroak Dr. in Fort Wayne. The meeting is scheduled to be livestreamed at www.cityoffortwayne.org/CityTV.
The need for the project is evident based on the anticipated increase in traffic volumes and resulting congestion. An additional need for the project is lack of connectivity of pedestrian facilities along North Clinton Street. The purpose of the project is to provide a roadway that can effectively accommodate future traffic volumes and operate at an acceptable level of service during the design year of 2048, and to increase connectivity of pedestrian facilities.
The preferred alternative will include the reconstruction and widening of North Clinton Street from a 2-lane roadway to a 4-lane roadway with a median or two-way left-turn lane and pedestrian facilities. Drainage improvements would be included along with intersection improvements, including realignment of intersecting roadways to address line of sight.
For more information and to view the meeting presentation, exhibits, and provide comments on the proposed project, visit https://engage.cityoffortwayne.org/north-clinton-street-improvements. All comments are requested by December 12. Comments will be accepted and considered as the project advances.
