Parkview hosts free event to help seniors navigate Medicare during Annual Enrollment Period

Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 22, 2025) – Parkview Health will host a free, in-person Medicare information event on Friday, Oct. 31, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation, 10622 Parkview Plaza Drive, Fort Wayne.

This timely session will help current and future Medicare beneficiaries understand the latest updates to the Medicare program, including new cost information, coverage details and plan options available during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct. 15 to Dec. 7).

The featured speaker will be Ben Hudson, Medicare training director for the Indiana State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), a division of the Indiana Department of Insurance. SHIP provides free, unbiased counseling to help individuals make informed Medicare decisions and is not affiliated with any insurance carrier.

“Each year brings new options and updates to the Medicare program, and it’s important that beneficiaries have access to clear, reliable information,” said David Jeans, senior vice president of payor, employer and health plan strategies, Parkview Health. “Partnering with SHIP allows us to connect community members with trusted, impartial experts who can help them make confident, informed choices about their coverage.”

“Many people don’t realize they can talk one-on-one with a SHIP counselor at no cost, paid for through their federal tax dollars,” said Hudson. “Events like this raise awareness of how to best navigate the complexities of Medicare and help ensure more Hoosiers are getting the guidance they need.”

Attendees will learn how to:

  • Compare Medicare plan options and costs
  • Understand coverage changes for 2026
  • Navigate the annual enrollment process
  • Access one-on-one counseling or additional SHIP resources

This event is open to anyone eligible for Medicare, as well as caregivers and family members assisting with health care decisions. A complimentary boxed lunch will be available for registered attendees.
Those interested in attending can register here.
