Details/Summary:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a person shoot in the 3500 S. Lafayette St. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, just before 5:45 pm. Officers located a male inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local trauma hospital by ambulance. The male succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at approximately 6:30 pm.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and searching the area for evidence including camera footage. There is not current threat to the public. The 3500 block S. Lafayette St. will be reduced down to a single lane of traffic until approximately 10:30 pm.
This incident is being investigated by the FWPD Homicide Team, Crime Scene, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
