On October 22, 2025, at 0807 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a vacant school fire at 2700 East Maple Grove Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

On Scene: 0809 hours
Under Control: 0838 hours
The building was an older vacant school building that has not been used in years. Firefighters arrived and found moderate smoke coming from the building around Door 5. Firefighters forced the doors open, which were covered with plywood, and found a small fire just inside the door,. The fire was quickly extinguished. Smoke was throughout that area of the building and the crews worked to ventilate the building. Hot spots were found and extinguished and a search completed with no one found.
The fire was marked under control at 0838.
The fire is under investigation.
