Fort Wayne Mayor Tucker’s recently enacted Young Adult Council reviewed the proposals that were submitted and recommended which proposals should receive funds. The council provides a platform for young adults ages 19-26 to advise the mayor on issues affecting their demographic. The council encourages civic engagement through policy discussions, community service, and leadership development.
“Today marks an important next step in our efforts to help reduce youth violence in our community. Congratulations to the recipients of the microgrants as each entity worked diligently to submit proposals that stood out and are designed to make a positive and lasting difference for our young people,” said Mayor Tucker. “I’m also grateful for the Young Adult Council for the time and care that were given in selecting the winning submittals. This part of the Youth Violence Prevention Program is going to have an impact to help enhance the quality of life and safety in our great city.”
