On October 9, 2025, at 2014 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3000 block of Plaza Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Under Control: 2045 hours
The resident called 9-1-1 to report an electrical power loss along with smoke and a fire in the house. FWFD Engine 11 arrived first and extinguished a fire on the first floor. A search of the home by firefighters found no victims inside. Additional fire was found in the basement of the home. The fire was under control 31 minutes after the initial 9-1-1 call.
The one person at home escaped safely with their dog.
No injuries occurred at this incident, and the cause is being investigated.
