On October 6, 2025, at 2117 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2900 block of Briar Bush Lane, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The occupants of the home were made aware of a fire in the garage by an activated smoke detector. FWFD Engine 14 arrived to find the attached garage of a two story house heavily involved in fire. Fire crews worked on extinguishing the fire while simultaneously searching the house for victims. The fire was mostly contained to the garage. The fire was brought under control 35 minutes after the initial 9-1-1 report.
Two occupants and one dog self-evacuated from the home and contacted 9-1-1. Two cats were safely removed during the search. One occupant was examined at the scene by Three Rivers Ambulance for injuries.
