On October 3, 2025, at 0015 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at the OmniSource facility at 2511 Taylor Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0015 hours
On Scene: 0018 hours
Under Control: 0102 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke showing and the sprinkler system activated. Crews investigated and found machinery on fire within structure. Fire crews pulled handlines, extinguished the fire and searched the building. Fire crews ventilated the building and were assisted by maintenance employees with salvage and overhaul. The fire was placed under control in less than an hour.
One employee self-evacuated and was treated by TRAA Medics. No other employees were found.
Additional fire crews were called to relieve initial fire crews.
FWFD Investigators made scene to determine cause and origin.
