FWFD: House Fire, 3900 block Abbott Street

On September 30, 2025, at 1422 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3900 block of Abbott Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1422 hours
On Scene: 1425 hours
Under Control: 1447 hours

A 9-1-1 call reported that their neighbor’s house was on fire. FWFD Battalion 11 was first on scene and reported fire coming from the windows on the front and side of the home. Firefighters entered the structure to extinguish the fire and search for any possible victims. The fire was under control within 25 minutes of the initial 9-1-1 call.

It was confirmed that two persons were inside the home and evacuated prior to FWFD arrival. One of those persons was checked out for injuries by medics at the scene but was not transported to any medical facility by TRAA.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
