Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 23, 2025) – The Fort Wayne Police Department is providing an update regarding the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sept. 22nd, 2025 in the area of 2100 St. Mary’s Ave.
One of our officers was injured during the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. We are grateful to report the officer is in stable, non life-threatening condition, and our thoughts remain with them and their family during this difficult time. Out of concern for the officer and their family, we are not releasing the officer’s identity at this time.
The suspect involved in this incident succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
As with all officer-involved shootings, this matter remains under active investigation. We ask for patience and understanding as we work to gather all the facts. We ask the community to keep the injured officer, their loved ones, and all involved in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
