
Shortly after 2000 hours on September 12, 2025, a Deputy with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department noticed a vehicle parked in a suspicious area near Schwartz and Irving Roads in Allen County, Indiana.

Officer Involved Shooting Near Schwartz Rd. and Irving Rd. in North East Allen County
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 13, 2025) – Shortly after 8:00pm on Friday, September 12, 2025, a Deputy with the Allen County Sheriff’s Department noticed a vehicle parked in a suspicious area near Schwartz Rd. and Irving Rd. in Allen County. When the officer approached the vehicle, he saw that the person in the car was armed with a gun. The officer called for back-up and officers with Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Indiana State Police arrived.
During the interaction, the person exited the car and made an aggressive movement. After this movement, officers from all three departments fired at the person who was later confirmed deceased by medics.
During the shooting one Fort Wayne Police Officer was injured. The extent and cause of the injury is unknown.
This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
