Allen County and the City of Fort Wayne Warn Companies and Individuals of NEW SCAM Tactic
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 10, 2025) – On September 3, 2025, the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the Department of Planning Services (“DPS”) alerted citizens of an email scam that included an email claiming the recipient had a project approved by DPS. Unfortunately, a new email scam is circulating.
It appears that companies and individuals that have applications with the Board of Zoning Appeals are being targeted with fake invoices that look like they came from the City of Fort Wayne. The county and city urge anyone who receives an invoice from DPS to contact the office for verification.
