Trail sections to be closed for sealing

The Towpath Trail from Covington Road to Smith Road will be closed today to allow crews to reseal the entire length and width of that section of the trail.

News release from the City of Fort Wayne Public Works:

Trail sections to be closed for sealing

Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 3, 2025) — The Towpath Trail from Covington Road to Smith Road will be closed today to allow crews to reseal the entire length and width of that section of the trail. Barricades will be placed. The trail is expected to reopen on Monday, September 8 after the sealer has cured properly.

The Pufferbelly Trail will be closed from the Cookie Cottage to Carroll Road on Thursday, September 4, and Friday September 5, weather permitting. Crews will be crack sealing sections along the trail.

Please avoid riding or walking on areas that have been sealed until sealer has time to cure properly.
