FWFD: House Fire, 2700 block Chestnut Street

On August 30, 2025, at 0317 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 2700 block of Chestnut Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 0317 hours
On Scene: 0321 hours
Under Control: 0355 hours

A smoke detector alerted residents of the home to the fire. Firefighters arrived to find a large fire on the interior and exterior of the house. Searches were made for anyone possibly remaining inside. It took approximately 35 minutes to bring the fire under control. Crews worked for several hours overhauling the house, removing finished surfaces to make sure all fire and smoldering objects were completely extinguished.

Three adults and four children along with two pets self-evacuated. One adult was transported to a local hospital.

Water Damage: Moderate
Smoke Damage: Heavy
