The Allen County Coroner has identified Rackita Lanae Washington as the 28th Allen County Homicide in 2025.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
The autopsies have been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin for the individuals found deceased within their house in the 9300 block of Morning Light Trail, in Fort Wayne, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at approximately 09:24 hours. The decedents were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fort Wayne Fire Department.
Identified are Rickita Lanae Washington, a female, Black, 38 years of age and Odie Lionel Sanders, a male, Black, 46 years of age, both are from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Rickita Lanae Washington’s Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wounds of Head, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Rickita Lanae Washington is the 28th Homicide for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2025.
Odie Lionel Sanders’ Cause of Death has been determined to be Gunshot Wound of Head, and the Manner of Death is Suicide.
