On August 2, 2025, at 2003 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported apartment fire in the 1000 block of Oneida Street.
Time of Alarm: 2003 hours
On Scene: 2006 hours
Under Control: 2029 hours
The first crews on the scene observed fire coming from the second-floor apartment. There were reports of a possible victim inside.
Crews completed an aggressive search of the apartment and found 1 deceased cat. No other victims were inside. One occupant self-evacuated before fire personnel arrived and was transported to the hospital.
Fire crews on the scene had the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes.
The fire is currently under investigation.
