Traffic Alert: Ardmore Avenue at Engle Road

A sewer force main has collapsed under Ardmore Avenue, causing the roadway to collapse near Engle Road.

Traffic Alert: Ardmore Avenue Near Engle

Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 24, 2025) – A sewer force main has collapsed under Ardmore Avenue, causing the roadway to collapse near Engle Road. Due to the growing size and instability of the roadway, the eastbound lane of Ardmore is closed.

As part of the closure, the eastbound lane of Engle Road just east of Ardmore is also closed. A detour using Nuttman, Brooklyn Avenue, and Bluffton Road is in place.

Repair crews will return in the morning to begin restoration. Currently, we do not have an estimate as to how long the closure will last.
