On July 18, 2025, at 2030 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned friend regarding an adult male who had made threats to kill himself and was armed with a handgun in the 1000 block of West Coliseum Boulevard.

Details/Summary:
Officers received a 911 call from a concerned friend regarding an adult male who made threats to kill himself and was armed with a handgun. Officers were able to make contact with the individual, but he refused to exit the apartment. Assistance was requested from the Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Air Support Team. Negotiators were able to make contact with the individual encouraging him to exit peacefully. Around 2200 hours he exited without incident and will be taken to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
