
On May 30, 2025, at 1604 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department arrested two homicide suspects in a high-risk traffic stop near the intersection of South Anthony Boulevard and Lanternier Street.

Details/Summary:
On 5/30/2025 at 0205 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Wells Street in reference to a shooting investigation. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound(s). The victim was rendered medical attention on scene and then transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit conducted the criminal investigation and developed probable cause to arrest 19yo Jaylen Murray and 18yo Jayden Cosme. The Homicide Taskforce was initiated and soon after both subjects were arrested in a high-risk traffic stop in the area of S. Anthony Blvd and Lanternier Street. Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allen County Jail on the charge of Murder. The case is still under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutors Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
