Neighborhood Engagement Grant Applications Now Open

Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 28, 2025) – Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker today announced a new grant program open to City of Fort Wayne neighborhood associations that are looking to increase participation from residents.

The Neighborhood Engagement Grant program, funded by a Special Opportunity Grant from Foellinger Foundation, is now open for applications on Engage Fort Wayne.

The program provides funding to help registered neighborhood associations host events and activities that bring residents, businesses, and organizations together to strengthen neighborhood connections. Grants range from a minimum of $2,000 up to $5,000, and support activities like block parties, educational workshops, neighborhood clean-up events, and social gatherings.

“I’m excited to launch this new grant program with support from Foellinger Foundation,” said Mayor Tucker. “These grants will help neighborhood leaders connect with residents to encourage volunteerism and address collective needs in a way that can make a positive and lasting impact.”

“Foellinger Foundation is proud to support the City of Fort Wayne’s Department of Neighborhoods and the residents they serve,” said Sarah Strimmenos, president and CEO of Foellinger Foundation. “This partnership results from many years of researching and learning alongside one another, and we are excited to provide funding for grassroots projects that our neighborhood leaders often have a hard time finding funding for. These grants reflect our commitment to championing opportunity for Allen County residents.”

Applications for the grants are being accepted now until June 11 at 5 p.m. Award recipients will be announced by June 30.
