The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to the 7300 block of Lakeridge Drive on May 21, 2025, at 1943 hours, for a reported apartment fire.

On Scene: 1947 hours
Under Control: 2003 hours
Residents of the apartment called 9-1-1 after hearing a smoke detector sounding in a neighbor’s apartment and seeing smoke inside. The first FWFD unit was on scene in 4 minutes. A fire was discovered in the apartment and FWFD units worked quickly and aggressively to extinguish the kitchen fire. The fire was contained to the apartment.
There were not any injuries to either firefighters or occupants.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement.
