Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 12, 2025) – On Sunday, June 1, the History Center will present the final lecture of the 2024-2025 George R. Mather Sunday Lecture Series. Alec Johnson will present, “Fort Wayne’s Cultural Landscape Reports – Looking to the Past As We Plan the Future.” Guests will learn that from George Kessler to current City Of Fort Wayne landscape architects, the practice of landscape architecture has shaped the development and aesthetics of Fort Wayne in sometimes surprising ways. Come and learn about the Kessler Parks and Boulevard Plan, and the role of landscape architects in the creation of both the Fort Wayne Park System and the current landscape of the city as a whole.
The lecture begins at 2 PM and admission is free to the public.
