
Daniel Etzcorn was sworn in today as the FWFD’s District Chief of EMS.

Daniel Etzcorn sworn in as the Fort Wayne Fire Department’s District Chief of Emergency Medical Services
Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 21, 2025) – Daniel Etzcorn was sworn in today as the FWFD’s District Chief of EMS.
Etzcorn is a 10-year veteran of the Fort Wayne Fire Department. In his new position, he will be responsible for managing the Fort Wayne Fire Department’s delivery of emergency medical care and will work as a liaison with our local hospitals and the local ambulance provider.
Etzcorn has served on the FWFD as a Lieutenant in the Operations Division for the last two and a half years. He held the roles of SCUBA team leader, SCUBA shift leader, and adjunct academy instructor for the 92nd recruit class. He also participated in an EMS adjunct instructor role, delivering training to crews in the Operations Division at the Advanced Life Saving and Basic Life Saving level.
Etzcorn began his career in public safety in 2010 with the New Haven Fire Department where he operated as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Additionally, he worked for TRAA EMS as a Paramedic.

As the District Chief of EMS, Etzcorn will be tasked with ensuring that the medical professionals of the FWFD have everything they need to successfully complete that mission. In his new position, Etzcorn will explore emerging technologies, research successful EMS initiatives, and promote proficiency in basic skills. I am excited about promoting Lt. Etzcorn into the position of District Chief of EMS for the FWFD and I am excited to see what Dan will accomplish in this role.”
