The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Robbery and Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has brought criminal charges against 19yo Cameron Kizer, Jr. for the murder of Jathen Maxwell in July, 2024.

On 7/25/2024 at 12:03am, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3900 block of Warsaw Street reference a shooting investigation. Upon arrival, police located the victim, 20yo Jathen Maxwell, suffering from gunshot wound(s). Medics arrived on scene and pronounced him deceased and his death was ruled a homicide by the Allen County Coroners Office.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Homicide Unit has been diligently investigating the homicide and with the assistance of the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office have brought criminal charges against 19yo Cameron Kizer, Jr for the murder of Maxwell. Kizer is currently confined in the Indiana Department of Corrections – Westville Correctional Facility on an unrelated battery conviction.
The Fort Wayne Homicide Unit would like to remind anyone with information regarding this case or other homicides that they can remain anonymous.
