The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire in the 2000 block of Carterton Drive, on March 21, 2025, at 1859 hours.

On Scene: 1901 hours
Under Control: 1919 hours
FWFD’s Engine 12 arrived on scene to find no smoke or flames visible. Upon entering the apartment, a small fire was found near the electrical panel and extinguished. Upon further investigation, active fire was found in the walls, which extended into the attic area. All adjacent apartments were evacuated, and additional arriving crews began an aggressive fire attack to prevent extension into the two-story portion of the building.
One adult safely exited one apartment, and no one was at home in the other. The fire was under control in 18 minutes.
No injuries were reported.
