On March 15, 2025, at 1220 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department received a report of a domestic disturbance in the area of the 4400 South Colonial Avenue.

Details/Summary:
On March 15, 2025, at approximately 12:20am, FWPD received a call of a domestic disturbance in the area of 4400 S Colonial Ave. FWPD received alerts that there was an injury to a party involved, possibly caused by a knife or other sharp object. Once Officers arrived on scene, they found one person suffering from an injury to the head. That victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect, fled into a garage, where he barricaded himself, refusing Officers commands to exit. After multiple more attempts from Officers on scene to exit peacefully, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Air Support Unit were dispatched to the scene. Several more attempts were made to contact the subject at which all attempts were unsuccessful. Members with the Emergency Services Team made entry, where the suspect attempted to flee, and was taken into custody without any further incident at approximately 4:18am.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department Detectives, FWPD Crime Scene Unit, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Coroner’s Office.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
