FWPD: Search Warrant Service results in arrest, 2300 block Warsaw Street

On March 14, 2025, at 0950 hours, the FWPD Gang and Violent Crimes Unit and FWPD Emergency Services Team executed a search warrant in the 2300 block of Warsaw Street.

Suspect Arrested: Decatur Durden, male, age 18

Preliminary Charges:

  1. Warrant – Criminal Recklessness with a weapon
  2. Possession of a machine gun

Details/Summary:

On March 14th at 0950 hours, the Gang & Violent Crimes Unit, with the assistance of EST, executed a search warrant at 2309 Warsaw St. This warrant service was the result of a GVCU investigation concerning criminal gang activity, and several drive by shootings. During the search of the home, warrant subject Decator Durden was located and taken into custody. The GVCU recovered 5 firearms during the search, as well as a Glock full auto conversion device, commonly known as a “switch”.

Durden was charged with said device. Indiana Criminal Code states that possession of a conversion device, whether stand alone or installed on a firearm constitutes possession of a machine gun.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
