Details/Summary:
On 3-2-25, the Gang & Violent Crimes Unit began a follow-up investigation for a battery that occurred the previous night, that the GVCU had discovered was gang related. The victim of the battery had just left the Club, and was observed by one of the suspects, Camari Kizer, who called the other suspect, Duprece Walker, to help him confront the victim. They were wanting retaliation on the victim for disparaging an associate of theirs previously on social media. The two suspected battered him relentlessly and viciously on the parking lot and the encounter was caught on surveillance video as well as many personal social media posts. What occurred is as follows:
Kizer and Walker confronted the victim on the lot, and the victim attempted to walk away. Kizer hurried, got in front of him and blocked his path. Walker walked up behind him, and pointed a pistol at the victim’s head. Kizer then punched the victim on the head, knocked him unconscious and onto the ground.
Once on the ground, what happened was extremely appalling. Both Walker and Kizer repeatedly and viciously punched, kicked, stomped and flung around the victim’s limp, unconscious, defenseless body around like a rag doll, inflicting serious injury to him. The victim suffered severe facial injuries, a broken jaw, and had no recollection of the event once he regained consciousness.
The GVCU invested many man hours in follow-up investigations in interviews, video reviews, etc and were able to identify Kizer and Walker. Charges were drawn up for both, and the GVCU began a man hunt for both.
First located was Walker on 3-10-25, who was located driving a vehicle. GVCU Detectives attempted to stop him, which led to a high speed pursuit, where Walker crashed on railroad tracks and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. His firearm was recovered at the time as well.
Second was Kizer, who was taken into custody on 3-13-2025 without incident.
