In response to a media query, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded via email:
What I can confirm at this point is that an officer discharged his weapon. No one was struck or injured in the incident. An arrest was made in connection to this incident. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
Arrested Suspect: Justin Landis, male, 30 years of age
Preliminary Charges:
- Resisting Law Enforcement
- Fleeing in a vehicle; Level 6 Felony
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
