Details/Summary:
On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, around 8:25 pm, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) were dispatched to the 11000 block of Chariot Ct. reference an assist for medics (TRAA). Medics attempted to contain an individual suffering from an advanced illness that caused the individual to have a declining mental state. Soon after, it was discovered that the subject had a firearm. Due to the situation’s increased heightened level of risk, other officers were called to the scene. These officers included members of the FWPD’s Emergency Services Team (EST) and Crisis Response Team (CRT).
The situation eventually escalated to an EST, CRT, and Air Support Unit (ASU) call-out. On Thursday, 13th, at 12:18 am, EST made entry and removed the subject from the house without out further incident. The subject was transported by TRAA to a local hospital for evaluation.
