More than 100 of the region’s most talented Career and Technical Education students will put their skills to the test at the 17th Annual SkillsUSA Regional Competition on February 1, 2025.

CTE students show off talents at SkillsUSA competition

Fort Wayne, Indiana (January 31, 2025) – More than 100 of the region’s most talented Career and Technical Education students will put their skills to the test at the 17th Annual SkillsUSA Regional Competition from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 1, at the FWCS Career Academy Construction Trades facility, 125 Murray St.

The young men and women will compete in the areas of Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, Masonry, HVACR, Electrical, Sheet Metal, Plumbing, Job Skills Demonstration, Heavy Equipment and TeamWorks. Automotive competitions will also take place at Ivy Tech and welding competitions at the Local 166 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Training Center.

The free, public event offers a look at the region’s emerging workforce talent. The top five performers in each category will advance to the SkillsUSA Indiana State Leadership and Skills Conference in April.
