On January 30, 2025, at 1241 hours, the FWPD was called to investigate a shooting incident in the 2200 block of Dunkelberg Road, which left a female, adult deceased.

All information is preliminary and subject to change during the course of the investigation.
The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting incident which occurred today, Thursday, January 30, 2025 at approximately 12:41PM, leaving a female, adult deceased. FWPD had responded to a 911 Hang-up. Shortly after arrival, officers were advised of a shooting at the location. Officers, along with Fort Wayne Fire and TRAA responded, where they located a female, adult suffering from gunshot wounds. The female was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
An adult/male suspect is in custody.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are actively being investigated by Homicide detectives. More information will be forthcoming as it is available.
This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.
