FWFD: House Fire, 3300 block Winter Street

The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire in the 3300 block of Winter Street at 2102 hours on January 6, 2025.

Fire units arrived in two minutes and found moderate smoke from the attic area of the home. Two people were in the home on the departments arrival. Crews assisted both people to evacuate the home. Crews were able to shelter two dogs until Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control could assist the dogs. The two people from the home were unharmed but transported a local hospital for further evaluation. Fire crews took 22 minutes to extinguish the fire.

There was moderate fire, smoke and water damage to the home.

Fort Wayne Firefighters were assisted on scene by Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, Fort Wayne Police Department, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, NIPSCO, Indiana Michigan Power, and the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at the time of reporting.
