The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 5800 block of Alta Vista Court on January 2, 2025, at 0520 hours.
The first arriving unit found smoke and fire visible coming from a mobile home. Upon entry of the structure firefighters found fire in the kitchen area. Additional units arrived to assist and it took approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control. The house was occupied at the time of the fire, but both occupants evacuated before firefighters arrived.
Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.
No injuries were reported to either people or pets. Fort Wayne firefighters were assisted by the FWPD, AEP, NIPSCO, NCE, and TRAA.
