Shivam Patel was arrested for OWI after the FWPD was dispatched to a traffic accident Wednesday at roughly 2:48 am in the area of Maumee Ave. and Ohio St. Officers located two vehicles that were in a collision, and a damaged vacant building that one the of vehicles crashed into. Preliminary investigation indicates that Shivam lost control of his vehicle, crashing into an unoccupied parked van, that was parked in the 1300 block of Maumee Avenue. The collision caused the van to be pushed into a vacant building, causing damage to both the structure and the vehicle. Shivam was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Once Shivam was medically cleared, he was transported to jail without incident.
