Details/Summary:
On Monday, October 28, 2024, approximately 9:26PM the Fort Wayne Police Dept to the 2500 block of Barnhart Ave in reference to reports of an adult, male pointing a gun to his head.
Officers arrived in the area and began searching for the male subject, who was located minutes later. During the initial contact with officers, the subject directed officers to shoot him. He was then observed entering a residence with a firearm.
An Emergency Services Team(EST), Crisis Response Team(CRT) and Air Support Unit(ASU) page was then initiated. Units from those teams began to arrive soon after the page, and made contact with the subject at the residence. Units successfully negotiated resolution, after which the subject was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
This incident remains an active investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
