The Allen County Coroner has identified Preston Jermere Church as the 33rd Allen County Homicide in 2024.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
On October 3, 2024, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a shooting located in the 6000 block of Waycross Drive, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The victim was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.
An autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin of Preston Jermere Church, male, Black, 19 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Cause of Death is Multiple Gunshot Wounds, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Preston Jermere Church is the 35th Homicide for Allen County in 2024.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
