Students at the Amp Lab at Electric Works are inviting the public to contribute to the creation of the Allen County Bicentennial time capsule project.

Amp Lab at Electric Works Seeking Input for Bicentennial Time Capsule
Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana (September 19, 2024) – 390 high school students that attend classes at the Amp Lab at Electric Works spent 7 days developing and curating ideas for a time capsule project as part of the year-long Allen County Bicentennial Celebration.
Those students are inviting the public to contribute to the creation of the Allen County Bicentennial time capsule project.
In August, Amp Lab students began the process of exploring ideas for artifacts to represent the 200th Anniversary of Allen County. They determined that the best way to include a diversity of ideas and objects is to invite the public to contribute to the list of contents. Artifact submissions are open to the public. Students are looking for pieces that represent Allen County in 2024 across the following categories: history, culture, art, community, and hopes for the future. Currently, the students are exploring options for the location of the time capsule.
Interested community members can submit artifact ideas through the Allen County Bicentennial website at https://www.allencounty.in.gov/854/Time-Capsule-Project. A team of Amp Lab capstone students will vet the submissions and curate the creation of the time capsule. Artifacts made of rubber, organic materials, or electronics will not be accepted. The submission form will be open until October 10th. The unveiling of the time capsule will be announced at a later time. Watch for more information to come.

Amp Lab at Electric Works is a half-day high school program available to 11th & 12th grade students inside the Fort Wayne Community Schools boundaries. The Amp Lab is a unique learning environment built for students of diverse backgrounds to gain real-world experience in an innovative and agile setting.
