Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 12, 2024) — Give your old electronics a second life! The Allen County Department of Environmental Management (ACDEM) is hosting an Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Allen County residents can drop off their electronic items at 2911 Meyer Road from 8:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m.Fees:
- 1-5 items: $5 (Limit two TV’s – additional televisions can be recycled for an additional fee)
- 6-10 items: $10
- 11-15 items: $15
- 16-20 items: $20
Accepted items include televisions, cell phones, cameras, CDs, cords, DVDs, keyboards, laptops, monitors, printers, radios, VCRs, and tablets. Please note that residents are limited to bringing up to two televisions per vehicle; additional televisions may be recycled for an extra fee. Payment is accepted only in cash or by check.
ACDEM is committed to providing accessible recycling options for electronics, which contain hazardous materials and are prohibited from landfills. Please do not place electronics in your trash bins or expect curbside pickup.
Stacie Hubbert, ACDEM Director states, “We’re excited to bring this valuable recycling opportunity back to our community. After the success of our Spring event, where we welcomed over 600 vehicles, we look forward to surpassing that number this time. By safely recycling thousands of electronics, we’re not only reducing waste but also giving these devices a new lease on life.”
