On August 28, 2024, at 1539 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to Pontiac Wholesale Tires at 2120 Wayne Trace in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for a reported structure fire.
Time of Alarm: 1539 hours
On Scene: 1543 hours
Under Control: 1821 hours
Witnesses were calling 9-1-1 and reporting heavy fire and smoke. FWFD Engine 9 arrived on the scene in four minutes and found a large commercial structure “fully involved”. Heavy fire was found throughout the main building with extension to adjacent connected buildings. A second alarm brought multiple other units to the scene. Through the very warm weather, FWFD was able to contain the fire to the already involved buildings and extinguish it. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Firefighters were medically checked by TRAA medics as they worked at the scene.
