FWPD: Shooting investigation arrest, 7000 block Peartree Lane

The Fort Wayne Police Department arrested Anthony Kidd late Saturday night (Aug. 3, 2024) in connection to a shooting that occurred Saturday (Aug. 3) at roughly 22:12 hours in the 7000 block of Peartree Lane.

Details/Summary:

The Fort Wayne Police Department arrested Anthony Kidd late Saturday night (Aug. 3, 2024) in connection to a shooting that occurred Saturday (Aug. 3) at roughly 10:12 pm in the area of 7000 Peartree Ln. The FWPD responded to the shooting after receiving a call that a family member was shot by the caller’s uncle. The caller further advised that the shooter left in a vehicle and gave a description. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of US-27 and Hanna St. The sole occupant of the vehicle, Anthony Kidd was taken into custody without incident around 10:50 pm.

Community cooperation and the quick actions of the FWPD officers resulted in a speedy arrest. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
