FWPD: Domestic Battery Arrest, 2600 block River Cove Trail

On April 24, 2024, the Paulding County Ohio Sheriff’s Department forwarded a report to the FWPD concerning three children that reported physical abuse the previous day inside Fort Wayne, Indiana’s city limits.

Suspect Arrested: Cassandra Lanae Sparks, 34 years old

  1. Domestic Battery to a family member less than 14, a Level 5 Felony
  2. Domestic Battery to a family member less than 14, a Level 5 Felony
  3. Domestic Battery in the presence of a minor less than 16, a Level 6 Felony
  4. Domestic Battery in the presence of a minor less than 16, a Level 6 Felony
  5. Strangulation, a Level 6 Felony

Details/Summary:

On April 24, 2024, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department (Ohio) forwarded a report to the Fort Wayne Police Department concerning three children that reported physical abuse the previous day. Photographs of the injuries sustained were also taken. Detective David Colon, an investigator from the Crimes Against Persons Section (CAPS), was assigned to the case. The children disclosed physical abuse by Cassandra Lanae Sparks in a residence located in the 2600 block of River Cove Trail. Charges were ultimately filed leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant. Ms. Sparks was arrested by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department on August 01, 2024.
