The Allen County Coroner has identified Jathen Allen Maxwell as the 21st Allen County Homicide in 2024.
News release from the Allen County Coroner:
On July 25, 2024, at about 02:20 hours, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a shooting located in the 3900 block of Warsaw Street, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The victim was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.
An autopsy has been completed and notification has been made to the next of kin of Jathen Allen Maxwell. male, Black, 20 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Cause of Death is Gunshot Wounds of Head and Right Hip, and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Jathen Allen Maxwell is the 21st Homicide for Allen County in 2024.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
