Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 29, 2024) – TinCaps pitchers put together a strong display on the bump with 14 strikeouts, but the Dayton Dragons (Reds affiliate)) still prevailed in a 3-0 win at Parkview Field on Saturday night.

The night featured a premiere pitching duel between Dragons (5-3, 39-35) starter T.J. Sikkema and TinCaps starter Dylan Lesko (No. 3 Padres prospect). The two combined for just one hit allowed in the first three innings.

It took until the sixth inning for Dayton to put the game’s first run on the board behind a Sal Stewart (No. 6 Reds prospect) double to score Carlos Jorge (No. 7 Reds prospect). It was Stewart’s sixth RBI of the series in five games.

Lesko threw a career-high 96 pitches (62 strikes) across 5 2/3 innings, allowing only one run with nine strikeouts, which tied his career mark for a single game.

The Dragons added insurance in the eighth inning. With two outs and two runners in scoring position, Dayton’s Leo Balcazar (No. 18 Reds prospect) smacked a crucial line-drive single to send score both runners and stamp a 3-0 Dragons lead.

TinCaps (2-6, 30-44) left fielder Nick Vogt made his High-A debut, going 1-for-2 with a walk.
