On June 16, 2024, the FWPD responded to reports of a shooting at 04:53 hours which resulted in a deceased adult male and another adult male in fair condition.

Details/Summary:
A shooting that occurred early this morning, just before 5am resulted in a deceased adult male and another adult male in fair condition. The shooting occurred at a residence in the 6000 block of Melan Cove. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the residence and located the two victims, along with multiple other occupants. Both victims were rendered aid and transported to local hospitals were one of the victims was pronounced deceased by medical staff.
The other occupants of the residence are being interviewed and limited suspect information has been obtained at this point. Many of the witnesses were impaired. It is believed that the shooting occurred inside the residence. Potential surveillance video in the area will be sought and reviewed.
