Details/Summary:
The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a vehicle accident with injuries at Jefferson Blvd. and Amber Rd. at roughly 8:50am today. Preliminary information indicates that a vehicle was traveling westbound on Jefferson Rd. and began to hit construction barrels along Jefferson. The driver lost control of the vehicle at Jefferson and Amber Dr. Once control was lost the vehicle left the roadway, flipped over multiple times before crashing into a utility pole, causing live wires to fall. It is unknown at this time what caused the adult male driver to lose control.
Utility crews and the Fire Department made the scene and turned off power to the wires. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. The Fatal Accident Crash Team made the scene and took over the investigation. Jefferson remains closed between Homestead Rd. and Amber Rd, until the scene is processed.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police FACT Team and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
