FWPD: Child Abuse Arrest

The Indiana Department of Child Services notified the FWPD of alleged child abuse and Detective David Colon, an investigator with the Crimes Against Persons Section, was assigned as the lead detective.

Details/Summary

The Indiana Department of Child Services notified the Fort Wayne Police Department of alleged child abuse. Detective David Colon, an investigator with the Crimes Against Persons Section (CAPS), was assigned as the lead detective. During his investigation, Detective Colon determined that Nickolas Uitts was responsible for causing the injuries to the child. His case was submitted for potential criminal charges. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Mr. Uitts. He was taken into custody on May 24, 2024. Detective Colon was also assisted by the Dr. Bill Lewis Center For Children and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department-Warrants Division.
